Life seems to be settling
The air here, in San Marcos, seems clear. It probably helps that the sun has gone down, and the glow of the fires is far enough in the distance to fade. It's been a wild few days. I'm hoping that tomorrow most people in Escondido can return home.
It's been a surreal experience: packing up, locking up, and leaving. Although it never felt permanent or really dangerous, it was amazing how easy it was to grab something important and leave the rest behind.
It's an interesting lesson to learn.
