as an aside

I, along with my father, gave a talk on helping students learn to be independent readers. It went well. I'm sure I'll revisit it, and the ideas it prompted, when the world seems less at risk.

It was great to meet with fellow-teachers and have a fun Saturday learning about some best practices. The next day some of those teachers lost their homes.
