more fire news

I just heard some news. Right now, it seems like the Witch fire has backtracked a bit towards Escondido--and is now traveling down Del Dios highway. All of the large animals at the Del Mar Horsepark seem to be okay.
A number of teachers at my school are directly impacted by these fires. My principal couldn't get into work yesterday, but she may have an easier time of it today. The custodial staff was requested to go in, and we've heard that our school is covered in ash and smoke. I'm sure the clean-up will be intense.
We just don't know when we can start. The idea that we can do anything *normal* seems laughable, but Starbucks was open this morning when we went to fill up some extra gas canisters.

And the winds have died down, a bit.
