this article is an excellent "inside scoop" on the textbook creation process. Of especial interest to me was the idea that "community watchgroups" (with biased, non-educational agendas) exhibit great sway over the industry as a whole. The article can be found here.
As an aside, I thought the difference between what would be acceptable in Texas and what would be okay in California was telling.
